I’m looking for help me review is due and my work have giving us a pay rise, but also a living allowance to help with current expenses Minimum six months

My expenses don’t match my bank statements, I have a basic bank account so I need to send my mum money constantly in order to use her card to pay for my fuel / shopping online food shops etc as well as her monthly payment for rent / dig money
I also have family members phones.

My expenses are listed below, I currently pay £209 each month for my trust deed, my wages are jumping from £ 1582 per month to below but only temporary then should go back down to around £1650 per month. Are my expenses suitable or should I be trying to reduce.

Hi christina0211,

It might be worth having a look around at other basic bank accounts. Most will provide a debit card to their customers.

Do you have any dependents? It's difficult to offer a view on your general expenses without knowing if you're financially responsible for anyone else.

Christina - I opened an account with Virgin Money when I entered my TD without any issue. They give you a contactless Mastercard debit card as standard on their basic account.

I’ve applied for a basic account with the coop I’m currently with Santander but there basic account is just an account for me so fingers crossed I can get an account that has a debit card and can be used in shops with covid it’s been a nightmare with most shops preferring cards. I’m just worried as I’ve noticed the rise in cost but I’m lucky to have a work place that’s helping their employees but at the same time wanting to be doing the right thing for my debt / trust deed

The big six banks are obliged to offer basic bank accounts with debit cards to folk in our situation, so you will have no problem. I had a basic account with the Coop before, so you will be fine.

Hi Christina0211.

Regarding your living costs, they don't seem particularly excessive so I would not expect your trustee to have too much of a problem with this budget. If it is just a temporary increase in your wage then you should make this clear to your trustee and ensure that the amount you need to pay is reduced back down once your income is reduced.
