As I hadn't heard anything for a week to tell me if my final payment had went through, I called my trust deed administrator today. It has went through and I took great pleasure in clicking cancel on my direct debit. Now, only 8-12 weeks to wait for my discharge papers[:D].
Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.

Believe me, after the last 3 years, it's not a problem. I've already picked where and when I'm going on holiday. The trust deed money will be paying for that and some spending money.

I can quite categorically say, I will never get in the same position again.

Well done Gillian

Bet the time went by quickly ( or maybe not) We normally fully close in 3-4 weeks, but if there are outstanding claims etc, then I'm sure it can take longer.

Glad it has all worked out.

Tenon seemed to be quick of the mark and were looking at claims before our last payment went out, fingers crossed they close things promptly.

It's Invocas who's my trustee and although 8 - 12 weeks is a bit longer than some companies, I can live with that. I've had 3 years of waiting for my debt to be sorted so another few months won't hurt.

Letter to say I'd met all my commitments arrived this morning. I've been passed to the closures department so in 8 weeks, I'll call them to see how things are going. I was so nervous opening the letter incase it contained any nasty surprises but it was quite straight forward.

It's so good to hear about how people feel once they have finished their trust deeds and are now debt (and care) free. That's what this is all about after all, lifting that burden and enabling people to enjoy life again.

Have great holidays Gillian and Paul (not together obviously!!)

The way I feel these last few days I would take half the forum with me,if I could save up enough and pay in cash up front!!!

You really dont know how much of a burden it is,feels like I have been swimming the channel pulling an aircraft carrier behind me!!
