Hi

I got £900 for a refund from BT as I had a contract dispute with them... they never sent me a contract as they spelled my email wrong (they got my name wrong) and thus had been paying for months without a contract. They refunded everything and released me and I switched to a different provider.

I told CD about this money, but they are outsourcing everything to an overseas call centre so I can barely get replies and they just say "we are trying to get a response from your trustee"

I guess two questions

1) I did enter this BT contract AFTER entering the trust deed. Does this mean I will get to keep the money? I was going to use a bit of it to learn to drive and the rest to pay for the rest of my wife's visa.

2) Is it usual to have barely any direct contact with your trustee?

Hi HawthornFLK,

1. How this refund is treated will really be down to Trustee discretion, so it's unfortunate that you can't get in touch with yours.

2. Levels of Trustee contact varies wildly across firms. There's a definite trend with larger companies of Trustees being more 'hands-off'. You should be supported by a responsive and knowledgeable administration team, but it sounds like you're not getting this currently. Keep trying them and make sure to send emails so your communication is recorded.

Let us know how you get on and I hope you get a suitable answer.

I ended up getting to keep it all - took two weeks of repeated emailing
