Has anyone had any dealings with Knightsbridge Insolvancy?

When I started this process with Kelsom or Trust Deed Scotland, I wasn't given an option of who would deal with my case going forward and was advised that Knightsbridge would be my IP. Is this normal practice? I'm worried i've been lead into the arms of a dodgy company!!

Many thanks for any words of wisdom!

Hi Hadenough

I've never heard of Knightsbridge, so cannot comment.

There was an earlier post from someone from Kelsom advising that they had their own IP, so I'm not entirely sure where Knightsbride fall into things. Perhaps they could clarify if they are looking in.

Hi, a company is never your Trustee, it is always a specific person- an insolvency practitioner. It is better to deal with the firm direct rather than use a middle man, but that is purely my opinion! Having said that, your IP has to follow the same legislation regardless of which firm they are with. If you have not already had the details confirmed in writing, especially regarding any assets, ask for that now. If you do that, you should be fine.

I have heard of Knightsbridge - a quick glance at the Edinburgh Gazette shows them to be a regular trust deed provider. I don't think we have had any adverse comment on the forum about them.

I'm so confused. I've been given the name of someone within Knightsbridge but I've never spoken with him, always just a representative of the company on the phone. They are based in Manchester and have just recently closed their Glasgow office. I signed my trust deed last week, but didn't complete all the paperwork as my circumstances have changed and they were going to look at my payments for me. Where do I stand if I have signed my TD but am not happy with dealing with them anymore?

Hello Hadenough.

I've heard of this firm as well.

To the best of my knowledge all the firms you mention are appropriately licensed to carry out the work which you have asked them to do.

If you have any concerns, you should address them now before the paperwork is complete. Having said that, if they are looking at your payments because of a change in your circumstances, that seems fair enough, just get it all in writing. It is perfectly normal to speak to a representative rather than the IP , so don't let that worry you.
