To describe my anger!!!! I come home from work today to find a nice fat envelope from Invocas with a copies of sheets that have been sent to my creditors with the dividends on it. There's also a few lines on it saying expected date of discharge 27 July 2012!!!! To top it all off, I have been asked to fill in an income and expenditure form and submit my last 2 payslips. This is ******* ridiculous. They sent me a letter weeks ago to say I was discharged and that my trustee would remain in office wrt PPI. I had been told I had met my obligations and I could go ahead and cancel the direct debit. I got over time in January and February - are they going to make me fork that over as well? I can't wait till tomorrow morning to 'discuss' this with them. Who the bloody hell do they think they are to do this now! I asked in January if I would have anymore income and expenditure forms to fill out and they said no. If only there was someone from Invocas who popped up on here occasionally to answer queries. I could cry. Now I think this'll never be over.
Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!
Hi Gillian
I wonder if they are referring to is the Trustee's discharge and not yours.
If you have letter stating that you've been discharged, then I'd use that when you call to advise its not your intention to provide the update. Did you sign after 2008? If so you should have received Form 5 confirming your discharge.
Not sure if the above helps

I signed in December 2008 if memory serves and my final payment went on the 1st of January 2012. I don't recall being sent anything that looked like a form but I did speak to the person dealing with my case and asked if my financial obligations were complete as of the final payment and they said yes. I need to find the letter. I think it's in my locker at work. 9am Tomorrow I will be phoning them. They told me I wouldn't have to do anymore expenditure forms. Am I never to get to keep overtime. My bonus is due in April and it's supposed to be a decent one. I'll end up losing a load of that. I'm so hacked off with the whole thing.

Hi gillian
If you have a letter confirming this, then thats all you need to argue your side. Check the letter and demand they send you a copy of Form 5 as there should be no reason for any delay.
Please keep us posted.

Thanks Mark. I'm starting to think this is their way of getting me back for the PPI thing - stupid I know. The reality is, I booked a holiday based on not having to pay anymore and can't afford to pay them anything should they demand it until May. I have to finish paying for my holiday in April. Oh well, lets see what tomorrows converstation brings.

Hi, Mark could be right, maybe it refs to the Trustee's discharge. Hopefully you will find your letter and that will be the end of it.

I just checked the AIB website and I haven't been listed as discharged. My Trust deed was signed at the end of November 2008 and became protected January 2009. I've also checked my credit report and I'm listed as discharged by equifax and callcredit. The letter must be in my locker at work so I'll phone Invocas tomorrow and find out what they're saying then check the letter when I'm at work tomorrow night. It is what it is and I'll try to not have to pay them anymore money.

Great, have tried calling them. 'Our offices are open from 8am till 8pm, Monday to Thursday'. Clearly someone can't tell time as the same message is still getting played. The paperwork is an annual statement saying my contributions are ยฃ18700 and refers to the period up until the 27th November.

Have just spoken to someone. I explained everything sent to me and they said it was the final review but that I had no more financial contributions to make. She's going to check with the person listed on the letter as the last person dealing with things is no longer with the company. I explained that I'd had a letter discharging me but that I hadn't had a form 5. She said that that could be another couple of weeks. She also said she's fairly sure I don't have to do another income and expenditure form but will phone me back if I do. She says it may be that it all went out as a pack as an annual review. I also said how worried I was about this and got told not to worry. I won't be able to get access to my payslips till I'm back at work as they're electronic so if I do need to send anything, it'll be the end of next week.
Why could I not have found this place before I signed with them. Yes, the majority of the process has went well but the discharge has been a pigs ear. Oh well, fingers crossed there's nothing else to submit or pay.

Hi gillian
It's a terrible way to be treated to be honest. You're either discharged or not.
Also, I fail to see why a current status was sent when they confirmed the final payment had been made.
Hopefully someone senior will deal with it resolve things.

I think the fact that there are a bunch of companies that get less than favourable reports on here and that none of the companies the experts work for seem to get them speaks volumes. Clearly I'm another shining example of why you shouldn't go through a 'middle man' company to get to a trust deed. I was in the dark about them and had I known that you could go direct to an IP, I wouldn have done so. Things learned so far:-
1) Don't make snap decisions about your financial future based on getting your card declined. Yes it's a light bulb moment but that's all.
2) Don't hit the yellow pages and pick the one with the best looking advert.
3) Don't get swept along with it in a bid to get it all sorted.
As I've said before, I sat in their office, crying about the whole thing and apologising for being such a failure. I can honestly say I didn't do as much research and ask as many questions as I should have. Mine is a case to be compared to Plasticdafts. He went with one of the experts firms and it's all sorted. I didn't and I see no end.

And I'm not filling in the bloody income and expenditure form!

To be honest Gillian,I didnt research the firm I went with,I was given a short list of numbers to call by citizens advice bureau, and the advisor told me to call 2 or 3 of them and try to get a feel for them.
I did look tenon up online and googled them and trust deeds and didnt get any bad vibes. Their rep who came to the house was in no way pushy, explained about trust deeds, sequestration etc,and told us to think about things for a few days and thats what we did.
I would certainly say that finding a good firm nowadays is easier to do,simply down to the fact that this website exists, and some decent firms are represented here.
Hold strong Gillian, you are so very close to finishing things. I think my trustee has remained in place for the time being,if its so they can chase up ppi then good luck to them, they are wasting their time and have been told as much but its costing me nothing!!
