Hello all,

Sorry I haven't been able to post at all on this site for a couple of weeks. There has been a fair amount of upheaval lately surrounding RSM Tenon, but I'm happy to be able to let you know that this uncertainty has now been resolved.

The personal insolvency business that was previously under RSM Tenon has now been bought over by Apex Debt Solutions LLP. This is a firm that was formed by the Scottish insolvency practitioners that were previously partners within RSM Tenon. This purchase included all of the trust deed and sequestration cases set up under RSM Tenon, as well as all of the staff involved in administering the cases.

There have inevitably been some temporary issues as a result of these changes, in terms of delays in performing certain tasks. This is still ongoing to some degree as there are some physical office moves happening right now, with case files having to be transferred between offices, new telephone numbers/email addresses etc.

On behalf of Apex I would like to reassure any clients affected by this change that we are working very hard to complete the moves and that normal service will be resumed very soon. Obviously there is no need for any change of trustee on any cases as Apex Debt Solutions IPs are the very same people as those previously at RSM Tenon.

We are very grateful for your patience during this time.

Hi Kevin

Glad it has all been resolved. Never great at the best of times, however the period before the Festive break, seems to make these things far worse.

Hi Kevin.

Thank you for explaining the situation as soon as you became able to do so.

As Mark said already this must have been an unsettling time for you and many of your colleagues. I'm very glad that for you and the case administration team that this has now all worked through OK.

I'm sure that it will be of great reassurance to clients that have current trust deeds or sequestrations set up with RSM Tenon that their trustees and case administration contacts will remain unchanged.

As mentioned in my other post ibmstyle FRP Advisory owns Apex Debt Solutions LLP.

FRP Advisory is an established insolvency practitioner firm.

Kevin would have posted this himself but he's currently carrying document boxes around in the freezing cold!

Hi Kevin,

Good to hear from you again and happy to read that it's been resolved. Naturally the transition will take a little time to complete as I'm sure there must be an awful lot of cases/boxes to transfer.

Along with all of the clients that you deal with who must have been worried about their cases, it must also have been a worrying time for you and the staff.

I don't envy you having to transfer everything in the freezing cold as I sit at my desk, next to the hot radiator with a tea and a hob nob...

Did most of the rsm staff get kept on then kevin?

Hoping that Nicola Boyd still has a job!! Very helpful young lady indeed.

Everything happens for a reason.

We have been a "paperless office" for a few years now wikikee and you should still see my desk sometimes, buried in paperwork!

Ha! We spent 3 months file streaming all of our files and now the huge amount of lever arch filed which we used to have in our office are now, eh! well, in a different part of our office ( floor)

Hi Kevin, that's fantastic news that all the staff have been retained. Not always the case with a merger or takeover that there are no redundancies.

I have a quick query about my own situation. I am due to make a final payment by bank transfer next week to complete my TD. Are the old RSM client accounts still in situ?

Hi CIF

Yes, the bank accounts are unchanged, so your payment should be made to the normal account. Congratulations on reaching your final payment.

Regarding the staff situation, whilst all staff did transfer to the new firm, unhappily some posts are disappearing. I don't think I can say any more than that really as it is an ongoing process, however I didn't want to give the wrong impression on here out of courtesy to those staff involved.

Thanks for the response Kevin (especially at this hour).

That's a pity about the staff who are going, really sorry to hear that.

Hi Kevin
Thanks for the update on Tenon. I finished making my TD payments a few weeks back and am awaiting Form 5. What you've said explains the delay. I'd like to say the trust deed has been conducted as arranged at the start with no nasty surprises (hopefully not speaking too soon here)and the folk I've dealt with have been pleasant and helpful, even at the first meeting when I couldn't really take things in and repeated a lot of questions. I wish everyone well in the future.
Best Regards
Snowball
