Acknowledged I am now in a trust deed. They closed my current account and loan account is now scrubbed off when I looked at internet banking and my CC is now suspended. Surprisingly they did not close my savings account although the balance is only £5. They appear to have left that untouched.

Took a mini statement out the ATM :O Just wondering if they were happy to leave that account open as its a basic savings account that they would have allowed me to continue to bank with them.

Hi kdog7.

I'd take that £5 out and never use it again.

Ur brave using the ATM for a mini statement, I remember that toffee crisp advert from years ago when it comes floating out the machine instead of money. I would still get a hold of that fiver tho!

I think I will just write that fiver off. It would be a red neck to go in and withdraw it. Could see me handing over details to the teller and an alarm going off, lights go dim , shutters slamming down on the doors and windows and the marines bust in and take me to Jack Bauer for interrogation.

On the other hand, my work place uses Santander as its bank - one of my past creditors who I owed the big bucks too. Obviously I'm in often banking with the works money - and the clerk; she asked who I banked with one day, TSB - I said not declaring my past Santander relationship, she said switch over to us, it will only take a few minutes to look up your details and she was very persistent, just because I new her, what an awkward moment in my life that was - little does she know, I, (my name) would probably have come up red alert.

Thats something I only found out last week, as Im with RBS. Withdrawing a fiver seems weird somehow.

Hi Kdog7

I have recently dealt with a client who had a basic account with RBS and although had no debt with them was entering into Sequestration. They were very helpful and allowed her to keep her basic account open.It maybe worth a try.
Then take your £5

Michael
