I’ve contacted my sequestration practitioner before but had no response I pay a DCO however my husband has had an accident at work and has been and will be on statutory sick pay for some time . I’ve asked if my DCO can be missed or reduced to cover some of the shortfall in income but had no response yet whenever I have had requests for reviews in I am subject to nasty letters even though I have an issue with my post therefore I don’t always receive this straight away and when I do I send them what they need . I keep reading about Cost of living etc but there seems to be no appreciation or understanding of that once you enter a formal debt solution .

Your sequestration contribution should absolutely be varied to reflect any change in your circumstances - you cannot and should not be expected to pay what you cannot afford.

Have you tried calling your case manager?

I called her several times and it’s always a receptionist I then send an email and have only had one reply . I appreciate that it’s my husband who’s on sick pay not me but the reason why my DCO was higher than I was originally advised was because AIB took his wages (NMW so not great ) into account . During lockdown he was furloughed and on lower pay again I asked for a reduction but at the time my practitioner was off so the people who were looking into my account didn’t respond .

I would suggest you contact them again and if you are still not getting anywhere you should probably think about making a formal complaint to them. It is not ok for them just to ignore your requests to review your contributions after a change in circumstances.
