I completed my trust deed Nov 2011 and all payments were made.
I have my discharge letter as well as the form confirming that I've been discharged.

Now, I came home to a letter from TSB saying my PPI claim has been successful
And I've been offered £6213.69 as a settlement. My credit file shows that all accounts with TSB are settled, however TSB State: "our records indicate that your financial affairs are now being managed by an insolvency practitioner. We will liase with the insolvency practitioner and apply the proposed payment as directed by them."

Now, with myself being out of the trust deed for 18 months and I have the letter of discharge plus the form confirming the discharge. Can some please explain how can Begbie and Traynors be contacted over this, when I have been discharged and trust deed completed and TSB showing as debts being settled. Although it would be nice to get the £6k but with being in today's mail I'm just skeptical about the whole thing.

Hi upnorth

Can you confirm if the trustee has also been discharged?

Hi sparky

unfortunately if the trustee has not been discharged, then the money will go to the trustee for the benefit of creditors.

I have emailed the trustee to ask the question. As good as sounds to have £6k waiting for you, I never expected it so I'm looking at as its not mine until I hear back from begbies.

Would the AIB website not indicate if your IP has been discharged? If they are surely the money would be urs then?

Hi Upnorth76

I went to the Register Of Insolvencies. I was told that if your name is still on it your Trustee still hasnt discharged themselves, if your name is off it your all done n dusted.
My name is still on it so i contacted my Trustee to see why and was told that he was looking into seeing if i had been mis-sold PPI.

The register of insolvencies still has my bame on it even though myself and trustee have been discharged! It will tell you the dates for all discharges so you can discover if your trustee has been lurking in the dark for 18 months or whether they discharged themselves in the meantime.

The Register of Insolvencies can be accessed via the Accountant in Bankruptcy website.

I understand that trust deeds remain on the register for a year after the trustee has been discharged upnorth76.

The ROI should show both the individuals discharge and also the Trustee's. If it details just the individual, then its probably safe to assume the Trustee is not discharged. If this is the case, then any PPI payment would go to the Trustee.
