I'm sorry to hear of your bad start to the day mark, its just common courtesy to have called you and said I'm sorry our appointment date needs to be changed as I wont be at home. Instead of you wasting your time driving all the way there to get no answer at the door. That time could have been used helping another.
However I was please to read the rest of marks post knowing the 2nd couple got the correct advice. I have to say this because its true! Mark to the rescue once again. Told you your a star mark just for being the man you are genuine and such a pleasure to deal with, that also goes for all the rest of the experts here at Trustdeed.co.uk. So glad to hear another couple has been given the right advice especially after what they had been told previously and are now on the right track and feeling so much more better than they did a few days ago. I can relate to this very much as i was the same after mark came to see me and even now still feel so much better for getting the best advise from mark as I said in my previous post I wish I had defently found Trustdeed.co.uk before hand as I have received a lot of advice and experience from just being here within a few week than I ever had in the whole time before I found the site.
Keep up the good work everyone!
Lou

Hi Lou

Thanks for the compliment. It's greatly appreciated. I'm glad things are beginning to settle down. Knowledge is power and it will be interesting to see how things develop. Dont worry, I am still working behind the scenes!!!

Also Candlewick, really good post. The market has changed so much in the last 20 years and unfortunately its now no different to buying windows or getting a plumber. You need to be really careful how you proceed.

We are in an age where people are getting text messages re wonderful solutions. emails and now adverts. As cynical as I am, I do think if someone spends £50k on tv and radio ads then there are 2 inherent problems. Firstly when the big ad goes out at the Coronation Street break, the firm need to man up their call centre to deal with the calls. I'm not sure, but I am guessing that all the people who man the phones don't have debt experience and certainly dont have insolvency experience.

Secondly if you spend £50k on advertising whether its internet, TV, radio, newspapers, then you need to recover that sum before you even make a profit. On this basis, how neutral are you likely to be when giving out advice?

Friday afternoon moan over!

Mark

As if by magic, just received a text telling me about new government legislation to write off debts. Unbelievable.

You couldn't write this stuff!

I just read that and thought 'great-another option to explore!' then realised you received a marketing text as any of us 'punters' do. Just when we were convinced you were superhuman!
Dear oh dear,I've had 3 texts like this in the last week

Hi Pamjo

I am, it's just my phone that's not. Ha!

It did make me laugh. I might actually respond and see who I end up with!

Oh, please reply. It'd be brilliant to find out how they advised you. Might not go down too well with others in the industry. If debt management firms chose to advertise by text and youtube, they should be open to the secret shopper type assessment of their service.

I've never had texts about this but get loads of phone calls. Luckily they fit in my 'don't answer 0845, 0844 numbers' philosophy.

be careful responding as then whoever sold on your number can get even more for selling it on as its shown to be active, even sending a stop type text puts the value of your number up to those who are selling it on.

Corrupt gits!!

Hi Mark.

I think that's good advice from Paul for you Mark. I read the same today.

Apparently the Information Commissioners Office has been looking into this and is about to launch some raids against those responsible.

Also, there is speculation that some of this activity is related to organised crime.

Good article on the BBC News website if you want to read more.

Hi

Rotten start to your day Mark, it has happened to me before and it awful when you have driven a distance.

Some of the marketing strategies of these debt advice companies has a lot to be desired, preying on vulnerable people. As MArk says, stay away from people who do 'cold calling', tand stick to organisations who have been tried and trusted.

As for the red faces.....well it is nice to see satisfied customers!!
