Just called my TD company to check that everything is on course for getting things closed off once my final payment is made at the end of the month. All seems fine and I should get a letter to cancel my standing order once my final payment leaves my account.
I then asked how long it might be until I receive my Form 5. Their response? 'What's a Form 5?'

Glad that's over with....
Wow... I'm sure that filled you with confidence!
I suspect that you have probably spoken with someone who doesn't have a great deal of Insolvency experience or knowledge. Most if not all firms will have qualified staff members along with support staff who will administer cases. From time to time staff leave and other staff replace them who won't have any great experience.
I'm sure it's nothing to worry too much about. Best to call back and ask to speak with someone more senior about your Form 5 and when you can expect this.
I guess that's the power of the forum. Sometimes you can know something that someone working in Insolvency doesn't.

Hi upstream
Ha! You should have told them to log onto the site and gain some knowledge!

Any call taker at an insolvency firm should have a basic understanding of all things related to the business. That said it can often be clear as mud so better to be told I dont know that be fobbed off with a lie.

Trust deed completed Jan 2012,Trustee discharge Nov 2012.
A new dawn.
I have no chance of speaking to my actual trustee. He'll be off picking the bones clean from some multi-national collapsing. Whoever I spoke to did say it would be a different department that would deal with things once the account was signed off as complete but you'd think some basic training would cover what Forms 5 and 6 are - as he had no knowledge of either.
Glad that's over with....
