Hi lewpy.

So your trustee is struggling with what in particular with Northern Rock?

Hi lewpy.

If your discharge is being delayed it seems to me that you're perfectly entitled to receive an update. You might want to write to your trustee (personally) expressing your concerns and requesting an update from them.

When did you sign your trust deed originally?

I don't understand why your trustee should be having this problem, lewpy. Northern Rock are never normally problematic.

I've spoken with our office in Ireland who deal with all of our claims and they are surprised at the lack of response or claim. As Kevin says it is very unusal.

Easiest way i would deal with it would be a recorded delivery letter stating that they had 14 days to comply of any claim will be rejected.

Sorry I dont mean to hijack this thread but on the subject or Northern Rock, myself and my wife have an unsecured loan with them that we took when we got our mortgage. This has been included in our PTD but on checking our credit reports both are showing as being settled now. Has anyone else came across this? We only started ours a few months ago and I found this rather strange.

Hi Baller1.

Sorry that a response has been a little slow to come.

It does sound a little bit unusual but perhaps it's something that will work in your favour in the long-run? I certainly don't think it will cause you any damage.

Hi Baller - I had the same issue with Northern Rock/NRAM. My credit report shows the loan as satisfied about two years into my TD. It's possible someone has purchased the debt but if that happens, whoever purchases the debt pops up on your report and shows a default. That hasn't happened with mine though.

It must be a policy they have. As TD says, that can only go in your favour ultimately. It's a bit odd that they are delaying claiming their dividend. NRAM are under instruction to run off their book of loans/mortgages ASAP.

Thanks for the replies. I phoned NRAM today to pay my mortgage and the adviser told me the debt has been written off. Like the original poster NRAM is main reason I am in PTD.. Only time will tell I guess!
