When I signed up for TD my wages were around £1300 a month. Since signing they have went up just slightly due to a change in tax code now to approx £1330. I am also P/T university student doing a Masters degree. My PC is old and on its last legs with various faults. My employer has offered me a new computer through salary deduction as they are funding my course it comes with no credit check and £21 a month would be deducted at source from my net salary. Should this be a problem while in the TD as I really need it for academic use and it won`t affect my TD payments.
Hi kdog7
I would be very surprised if this was an issue given the difference in figures we are looking is minimal.
Good luck with the course, I've found learning new things gets more difficult, the older you get!

Thanks Mark. I have just ordered it. £21 a month is not bad over 3 years. I did inform the IP that I was a part time student before commencing and since its for academic use I hope it will be ok.
Hi kdog7.
There will not be any issue with you getting the computer.
I guess the only potential issue is whether your trustee believes that this small increase in income should result in a small increase in your payment.
If you can point to equal small increases in your expenditure then I really can't imagine that a relatively modest increase in income like this will make any difference to your payment. Even if you cannot there's still a fair chance it will not make any difference (like a pay increase that only really covers an increase to the general cost of living).
Maybe I should drop them a wee email ?
I would kdog7, that way it looks to them that your being honest (not saying your not) ;O)
Never any harm in letting them know about a pay increase kdog7.
That will mean that if an increase in your payment is due at least you'll not be building up arrears in the interim that lead to delays later. Sparky1 makes a good point as well about another benefit of prompt disclosure.
If any of your bills have gone up let them know in the same email.
I have sent a wee email but the guy I deal with is on A/L (not handy) I do a family member a couple of thousand also I was hoping to use any slight increase to pay them back a couple of quid a month. I will need to run that by the IP. Although I am in no pressure to pay it back I feel they should be getting some return also as they gave me it to try and prevent me falling into a TD and I have not let them know I have chosen this route.
I guess it's up to you how you use the allowances that you have during the trust deed kdog7.
Your trustee will not be in a position to make an allowance to repay a family member though, something I think you're probably already well aware of.
Well I emailed the trustee and he has no issue with the computer lease 🙂
Hi kdog7
It shouldn't be an issue especially if your employer is encouraging you to enhance your knowledge and your payslip will show you are paying it back through your wage.
i agree with TDA re family debt.

Yeah I agree, the family debt isn`t priority. I will just continue small token payments and cut cloth elsewhere.
I recently received a pay increase, and as i'm only 2 months into my TD phoned my IP straight away. Thought they might increase my payments but they said they were more than happy to note on my a/c about the increase and won't review my payments till my 1st review next sept as they know i'll have increase expenditure just now. So hopefully your IP will be the same 🙂
Rainbowgirl ask for confirmation in writing so you have a record of having informed them. Even an email to back up what you've been told.
That way come next review they cannot claim that you havent told them about your pay rise.

A new dawn.
Hi rainbowgirl,
Plasticdaft makes a good point about getting things confirmed in writing. Drop them an email or send a letter so that there is a record on your file when it comes to your review regarding your salary increase.
