Think I may already know the answer to this question but here goes anyway....

Are you able to take a mortgage holiday when in a TD ??

Our washing machine is badly needing replaced plus car needs work done costing in region of £400 - £500.

I'm really thinking it's a no but no harm in asking I suppose !!!

Hi Boys1211

I don't see any problem with this.

We are contacted occasionally on this and fax our agreement to the mortgage company.

Another question from me to the experts!

If someone were to take a mortgage holiday would there need to be a good reason (such as the one boys1211 describes) for this to be acceptable and also for the money that has been saved not to be directed to the trust deed?

I would say so, though I reckon there would be a fair bit of flexibility as to what would constitute a "good reason"

I think it would not be a problem if there was a good reason. Any missed payments may well have to made up at the end - depending on the reason. It is certainly worth asking your Trustee as car repairs & washing machines are essential items.
