Hi,
I was just searching myself on ROI sad eh Saturday night and all that but its been 3 years of sitting in due to my trust deed.
I got a little excited when I noticed the below, Does this mean I am officially debt free? I have not heard anything from KPMG and therefore I have continued to pay my monthly amount every month.
I started searching on here and got even more excited when I saw other people with this but I just thought I would check first before I contact KPMG.
Trust Deed Signed Date
29/11/2011
Date of registration as a protected trust deed
18/10/2012
Debtor Discharge Date
16/02/2015
Hi
It would seem so although I find it strange that your PTD is a year after signing. Do you if there any problems to start with that could have delayed it becoming protected?
When did you make your first payment?
And how long was it to be for?
Have you paid it all? Did you miss any?
Was there anything unusual or any extra payments you had to use.
I would work that out and then call KPMG and check with them.
And perhaps see if you have overpaid? If you were discharged in February I don't
understand why they would not flag up additional payments.
Perhaps the Experts have a different perspective.
I know there was an issue with 1 of my creditors as I had not had any issues with payment so they didnt think i needed to go into it but they changed their mind. First payment was December 11
If it was for 36 months? And you paid on time it would suggest your last payment would be November 14. Couple of months to finalise your TD and discharge.
If it was longer you can work it from first payment.
If it is 36 months with none missed and nothing extra to be paid (car, equity etc) it could suggest you have paid additional payments from December 14. and could be due them back. KPMG should be able to confirm your payments.
Suggest you contact KPMG. Only they and you know your account. Be ready to ask them for the payments to be returned to you.
Ok I have just sat and worked out all my payments its 38 payments I have made (There is a couple of months I have doubled up my payment I must have been feeling flush those 2 months i done that)
This doesn't make any sense to be honest. You signed a trust deed in 2011 and it was not registered as protected until a year later. You were discharged in February 2015, without notification and continued to pay and a couple of those months your standing order payment doubled for no apparent reason?

Well Its not a standing order its just a faster payment I do so its me that has continued to pay it nothing to do with my bank so that why its doubled up sometimes. That had been my choice to pay more to my trust deed twice over the 3 years.
One of my creditors refused my trust deed and they have to go back and forth until they agreed that's why it took till then to protect it.

I will contact them tomorrow and ask I think. Could of done with the extra cash this month aswell.
Can't believe I am debt free feels amazing and surreal at the same time
Thanks for the information thats great, I have just gone on my credit report and it states discharged as of 16/02/15.
All the debt is sitting at satisfied except bank of scotland credit card that still says defaulted (this was the one that refused my trust deed and then accepted it)
Will this just take its time to change status?
Congratulations crazycatlady. Is it possible that your Trustee have incorrect contact details for you - have you moved house for example? Otherwise I can't understand why they wouldn't have been in touch with you.
Congratulations crazycatlady, well done on reaching this point and successfully completing your Trust Deed.
Let us know how you get on with your overpayments and if your receive a refund.

I contacted KPMG today they advised me that my contact address was incorrect so that's my fault I had forgotten to get it changed when I moved along the end of my street. They are issuing my paperwork to my new address. 🙂
Re the refund they advised me that I hadn't made any payment since November to which I advised that's incorrect and I can provide proof of this.
They are now in the process of looking into this to see if they can see these payments, which I am sure they will find them as I have been making them. 48 hours to look into this.
I will contact again on Wednesday morning if I have not heard anything from them.
Thanks again feels great being debt free never thought I would get to this point.
