Just been told my trust deed had been complete with Harper McDermott. Best news ive ever heard. Anyone thinking about doing it, can't recommend them or Trustdeed enough. It feels like getting my life back again.
Who did everyone else use and how quick does it take to fix credit?
Hi Ptdfan,
I also used Harper McDermott and have to say they were a pleasure to deal with.
My only comment would be to check the default dates for the accounts included in your PTD and handle them as quickly as possible if they are incorrect. I'm fast approaching the 6 years from signing mines and only recently noticed that 2 of my defaults are recorded a year after signing my PTD.
This means I need to try and prove the lender has recorded incorrect data on me and have them correct it with the CRA's.
They are not making it an easy process and if I can't get it changed I'll be another year before my credit report is free of blemishes.
Congratulations on clearing your feet and I hope it's the start of good things for you!
Dude
@thedude2112 Hi Dude. If they refuse to change the dates, refer them to the ICO guidance. It's crystal clear that the default dates should align with the date you entered the TD. If they still refuse, take it to the ICO. I had to threaten a couple with that and they backed down. I think they need to pay for any cases referred to the ICO, so it will focus their minds.
@cif thanks again!
I used the template you shared before and got a response something to the effect of "we have no evidence to suggest that you entered a trust and therefore the information held is correct as far as they we are aware" I've since responded with the ICO principle you included in your template along with copys of my signed TD and Form 5. I hope that the inclusion of my account in the forms is enough to prove I was in a TD.
Hopefully that resolves it, but I will get in touch with the ICO if I'm denied again.
Fingers crossed.
Hi, thank you for your advice. Main thing was getting rid of the debt and making a fresh start but also to now start SAVING which I’ve never done in my life before ever. Good credit rating again is a nice thought but I’ve learned so much about better budgeting thanks to the trust deed and the cost of living too
Hi ptdfan,
Fantastic to hear you've completed your Trust Deed, congratulations! Also great to get good feedback on your Trustee, Harper McDermott. I'm sure anyone searching for a provider can take comfort from recommendations like this.
