Got my form 5 today so so pleased, what happens next and how long before I can finally be free of all this !!

A massive lesson learned. Not going to lie its been a struggle, ive stressed so much it had affected my health and that was just picking the phone up to speak to my IP.

I felt as if my life the last 36/38 months had to be justified, clearly when my bank statements spoke volumes lol ! However I'm here, I have my health and some happiness back.

I said 3 years ago it was a mistake for me to enter into a PTD, i still think i shouldnt have but for some strange reason it had to happen.

My biggest regret was not knowing about this site beforehand as I jumped in head first. I came on and off the forum looking for advice to which I found just by reading other topics.

So thank you to all on the forum #128518;#128518;#128518;#128518;

Form 5 is your discharge, nells99, your obligations are now finished and you are no longer liable for any of the debts.

Many congratulations on completing your trust deed.

Congratulations on your discharge from the TD. As Kevin says you are not required to do anything further. Your Trustee will take the necessary steps to wind down the TD, distribute any funds and seek their own discharge.

Well done nells

Glad it all worked out for you. The Form 5 will be recorded with the AIB and the discharge will be official.

Hopefully the Trustee will quickly wind down the Trustee and seek his own discharge.

Hi nells99,
well done on completing your trust deed it must be a wonderful feeling, our end wont come quick enough. With you about being a trust deed been tough also. Like you entered it not knowing the full ins and outs. But having said that we will be debt free just about when it does end.

Hi nells99,

Well done on the successful completion of your Trust Deed.

I don't think anyone really has the intention of wanting to enter into a Trust Deed but the majority of the time due to different circumstances it can be a very helpful way of assisting someone in financial difficulty. I'm glad it was able to work for you and give you some happiness back.

As others have said, now you have your Form 5 you are free from the Trust Deed.

Good luck for the future and enjoy having the extra money! Make sure you treat yourself to something nice.

Well done Nells99. I received my form about 10 days ago so I can appreciate how you are feeling. I was four years til discharge, due to delay with PPI, I have not quite realised that I am 'free' from it now. I think it had such a hold on me - some of which you describe - that it will take a while to loosen the emotional ties. However, I did realise today for the first time, that I have only 2 years to go until the 6 years is up - and I smiled [:)]

You expressed similar feelings to those I had about a PTD and I,too, wish I had found the forum sooner.

Best wishes for a financially successful and happy future.

Hi Firewalker

That's a really good post and gives a good insight into the whole trust deed process. It's a good comment though that while it dragged on longer than expected, the time actually reduced the waiting period for the 6 years.

All the very best for the future.

Mark

thank you every one it is such a relief, looking forward to the future and so glad to have that extra cash back, i can actually plan ahead now ๐Ÿ™‚

one thing i will say the IP company i was with were on the ball 90% of the time. so im hoping they will discharge themselves soon, as they had already done the ppi before the TD ended.

however having this forum to come on kept me going, although i may not have posted a lot, advice was always there through other peoples posts.
