I've just had a very civilised and simple conversation with a chap at Allied International Collections in Glasgow. My arrears with Barclays has been referred to them and he asked me for an update. I explained I was in a PTD - all he wanted to know was what date it became protected and was Barclays aware of this. He actually apologised for bothering me and commented that Barclays failed to mention PTD to them and advised me to ignore any further correspondence from them (AIC)! I was amazed. So kudos to Mr McGrange at AIC for his professionalism.

That's good to hear Pam.

Properly educated debt collectors must save their employers a lot of money as well as avoiding placing unnecessary stress on those that they call.

Allied International do a lot of work with the free money advice sector these days, sponsoring conferences etc so it doesn't surprise me that they have proved good to deal with. Back in my days as a money adviser this wasn't the case but it does seem that they have put in a lot of effort to improving their procedures so fair play to them. Well done Allied - credit where credit's due (if you'll pardon the pun).

Good to see they are becoming a bit more approachable and now giving their names.

It used to be like Reservoir Dogs, where they were all call Mr Brown, Mr Black or Mr Green!
