Hello,
I have been in a trust deed for approx 18 months, and when we signed up we were told we could still have a credit card for emergency use but a max of ยฃ500.
At the moment we do not have any credit cards but where can we get a credit card to start to build up out credit rating again.

Thanks

Hi Luckysnoop

You dont have a ยฃ500 credit restriction in Trust Deeds, this applies to sequestration.

I think it will be difficult obtaining a credit card unless it is a pre paid one. That way you lodge money into the card and use the car in the same way as a credit card.

Hello Luckysnoop and welcome to the forum.

Like Mark I think you'll find it tough to obtain a credit card during your trust deed. There is a prepaid card with a "creditbuilder" function... I forget the brand name but hopefully one of our members will be able to share that with you.

We recently researched which credit cards might be available soon after a trust deed has finished to help rebuild a credit rating. That article is at:

Just found it!!

It's the Cashplus Creditbuilder.

We don't seek to endorse it but some members have written positively about the option:

Thanks for that, I will look in to it, not so sure about the ยฃ4.95 each month though. we just want to get a head start in building up a good credit rating again.

Capital One also have new card for people with poor credit. It is called the Luma, and gives 0% until January 2013. I have no idea how good it is, I just know because I keep getting emails at work about it!!
