I was thinking about this last night, trying to see it from the perspective of the lender.
If I was providing the finance I think I'd perceive the risk of leasing being slightly lower than hire purchase, but not necessarily a great deal though.
Leasing may be an option, though I imagine that this type of agreement is still subject to credit scoring.
If you are looking at this option I would urge you to read the small print too. I spoke to a client recently who had a leased car and after a few months she decided she couldn't afford it after all. Only then did she realise that she would have an outstanding bill of around £1900 to pay after giving the car back because she was terminating the agreement early.
I know lings require pretty much top credit rating or its a big no from them!

A new dawn.
I think I may move out of the insolvency game and start a small car business.
McFadyens Motors has a nice ring to it.
Well seeing it's Friday!

Hi. My car is near the end of its life unfortunately. Boo hoo! I've taken a look at time4leasing. It does appear too good to be true.... They are advertising an Astra for £116 per month for 5 years. No deposit and it's fully maintained for you across the 5 year period. Road tax is also included. And..... You get to keep the car at the end of the term for no additional cost. That all just seems ridiculous so there must be a catch somewhere. Anyway, it's got me thinking. If this deal (or one similar ) was actually available and I got agreement from my trustee to proceed, would they be looking to take an interest in the vehicle when my trust deed ends in 2 years time?

Hi Thinkingofthefuture
I wouldn't have thought so, as under a lease agreement you never get to own the car.
