I received my form 5 today along with copy of letter to creditors advising I have concluded satisfactorily. Yabadabadoooo!

Just to wait for the date it is registered with the AIB (around 2 weeks apparently).

I was boring myself never mind anyone else with moans and frustrations about it being a year after the trust deed finished.

Having to go down the Trust Deed route has been traumatic for me and it is is an experience I hope I never ever have to repeat. Although I am grateful that the option was available to me.

I now hope that my Co-op bank account will not be affected.

I hope you get yours sorted out soon Sharkey. Perhaps telephone every day and ask for an appointment to meet with them to find out where they are with your PPI claims. I think they are swamped with them and perhaps focus on those that have large potential payments. In my case, it was zero [:(].

Thank you to the team (members and experts) here for their support and advice. It has always been helpful and positive.

Hi Firewalker

I'm really glad it all worked out.

With the new changes, the discharge will be effective from the date it is registered in the ROI. This should be fairly soon.

All the best for the future.

Mark

Great news Firewalker - it does feel like you have been kept waiting for this for an awfully long time. Glad to see it coming to an end at last.

Thanks for your good wishes everyone.

As a very positive end to the story too, the money I was paying for the Trust Deed together with a recent reduction in mortgage at the end of a fixed year term has allowed me to save for my daughter's wedding next year. Interesting how it has never entered my head to consider any form of credit to pay for any of it. Cash saved only!

I should have asked and I would be grateful if you can let me know how the date of discharge affects my credit records? Does the Trust Deed (hopefully) disappear 6 years after it was first registered? Or is it 3 years after the discharge date? Which in my case will be a total of 7 years after the initial Trust Deed. I am keen to have my credit records corrected (the dates on the credit reference file are all over the place and not correct).

Thanks for your input and support.

Hi Firewalker.

It should be six years after it started.
