Hi, I finally received an email from my trustee yo advise they have been discharged however when I checked the AIB website, the debtor discharge date is blank. I'm getting really fed up as I made my last contribution last November and I just want to put this behind me and work on getting my credit file cleaned up but this is not proving an easy task. Where do I go from here??

Hi prenticebaby
Its unusual that your discharge date is not showing. Have you received your form 5?

Hi prenticebaby,
Has your Trustee given you a reason why it's taken since November 2014 when you made your last payment until now for you to receive your discharge?
It may be the case that your Trustee has processed the paperwork for your discharge and sent this to the AIB and emailed you at the same time to advise about the discharge. It might take a couple of days for the register of insolvencies to be updated.
If no details are showing in a couple of days I would call your Trustee back and ask about the Form 5 and when you will receive this.

You say their email advises that THEY have been discharged - is this definitely what you mean? This is a separate process to YOU being discharged, which would always happen prior to their discharge as Trustee (as long as the Trust Deed was successfully completed).
If it is indeed that they have been discharged as Trustee then you should definitely contact them straightaway to ask why your discharge is not showing on the Register of Insolvencies - it may just be an admin error of some sort that needs rectifying.
Hi and thanks for your replies. My trustee moved company which is why the discharge was delayed for so long!
I emailed and they said my discharge date hadn't been entered due to an administration error which will be rectified. I don't recall receiving a form 5 either?

Hi prenticebaby
I'm not really sure how they can advise that this was an admin error as this is handled by the AIB's office.
It may be an idea to contact the AIB direct and ask them for the position.
