Congratulations Paul and best wishes for your debt-free future.

I guess you might want to forget all about trust deeds now, but I'm sure many of the other users here would be grateful for any further pearls of wisdom you can impart - so don't be a stranger!

Congratulations Paul, you must be pleased and relieved?

Congratulations also to Kevin and his colleagues for playing their part in helping you get to this point.

I agree with Kevin's comments about the value of your contributions to the site as well. In the last couple of years here there has been a lot of extra support shared between members based upon their own knowledge and experience, something many of the people that we speak to tell us that they appreciate a lot.

Well done Paul! What a relief eh? And it seemed to come to its conclusion without delay which will put a lot of folk's minds at ease.

What are you going to with your new found financial freedom? Is there a well deserved holiday looming?

Bloody Hell! That was quick. I'm not expecting anything for another couple of months.

Good luck with returning to normal and remember that you occasionally need a treat. You don't need to go through a full analysis of whether you can have a bottle of wine and how it'll impact on your credit rating.[;)]

Best of luck.

Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!

Glad to see your post!!

Appreciate you may want to see the trust deed years as firmly behind you but your comments, suggestions and experience shared will continue to be valued.

Congrats!!

I dont intend departing this place, with so many people to help and even just listen and reply to,so people dont feel like they are the only ones going through troubles, its such a worthwhile place to spend some time.

We will be over £500 a month better off,so the plan is to split the money, the wife and I are going to give ourselves an allowance of £75 each a month to spend on whatever we want, our son is getting a raise in his pocket money(he currently gets half his child benefit transferred into his savings account, which he has a cash card for),and the rest is getting used first on some house repairs then we intend to save as much as we can to go out to florida next september/october time. We have been twice before(ten years plus ago),but it was all paid for by TSB via their lovely platinum card!!! This time its getting saved up for in advance.

I'd love a newer car(mines is an x reg),but if it passes its mot in may then that can wait until next year.

I really didnt think we would find a way out when I walked into our local CAB,and even talking to the 2 lovely ladies in there made the wife and I feel better, within days we had spoken to RSM Tenon, and discussed all of our options, and we decided that the trust deed sounded most likely to work for our situation.

To anyone unsure of how to get help, and to those who doubt that anyone can help because they are in so much debt, please just ask a question on here, visit your local CAB,dont do nothing, because thats what we did and our debts went from £40,000 to £80,000 in just a couple of years(and we were paying out £1300 a month to keep up with minimum payments).

Thanks for all your support, and good luck to anyone counting down the months until they finish their journey.

Paul

That is brilliant news, well done.
We made our last payment to Tenon( who have been 1st class btw) 1st Jan 2012 so hoping we get some god news soon !

Dont disappear, I think people that have experienced going through a trust deed are invaluable as we can totally relate to how it feels.
