Well, that's our 6'th payments made to our TD.

It's incredible how much things have changed for us in such a short pace of time.

ÔÇó We are now managing our monthly money much, much more effectively although it could still be better
ÔÇó The sleepless nights have stopped over worry about how we would meet all the bills (just the kids now causing sleepless nights for us lol)
 The creditors letters and calls have all but stopped bar for one very persistent company
ÔÇó Our credit scores are in the toilet but this was to be expected.

All in all it's going well. Fingers crossed it keeps that way!

Half way already!

Great to hear everything is progressing well. Treat yourself to a wee glass of something (but remember to tell your trustee).

Joke......

Hi colski

Great post.

It's exactly how things should be. Have everything clarified at the start, so there are no unknowns. As for the persistent creditor, best pass on the details to your trustee to deal with.

Strangely enough I was asked recently if, when in a Trust Deed, their wages were paid to us, we paid their bills and gave them what was left!

It's not quite Big Brother Trust Deeds yet!

Hi colski,

That's a really positive post for others who are at the point of considering dealing with their debts. It can be a very nervous time entering into a Trust Deed and the thought of not having credit to fall back on for some people can be a nightmare. It can take time but eventually as you've said you can start to manage finances a little better and sleep better at night.

Going into a Trust Deed does just take a little time for things to be set up, creditors to eventually update their systems and then after that it should be smooth sailing as long everything has been confirmed in writing at the outset.

I've been asked that a couple of times over the years Mark. I was asked yesterday if we pay off all of the persons debts and then they pay us back for 3 years.

Well done colski.

It really does show that when things are set up right at the start, and all parties understand fully what is expected of them, trust deeds can be very positive and effective. Not easy... but worthwhile and much better than what went before.

I do sympathise with anyone that is having a different experience due to issues that commonly relate to expectations not being made clear at the start.

Glad to hear it colski. Please do let us know about that one nuisance creditor and Nicola can get on to them to try and prod them into line!

@Kev, I sent the letter (scanned copy via email) to Nicola at the weekend along with my monthly wage slip. She must be getting sick of my monthly emails by now lol...

@everyone else, yeah, it is a relief that it is all going well. RMS have been great in the full process and clearly asking all the questions at the start has paid off for us as their has been no hidden or confusing matters to deal with yet... My wages are all over the place at present with bonuses so have been sending my wage slips monthly to ensure everything is as transparent as possible.

As for a glass of something... Kevin can you let Nicola know I had a few glasses of Gallianio (Spelling) white zinfandel at the weekend... It was on special in ASDA reduced from £7'ish a bottle to £5.00... Bargain (and still saving money)!

Half way already!

Great stuff!

This is what I try to tell my clients when signing. This is what it's like now, but this is what it should be like a few months down the line when the full benefits of the deed are felt.

Good for you, colski. I guess it could be quite a good way of sampling a wider variety of wines - just work your way around the various special offers that are on.
