Hi. I am sure this has been asked and answered a hundred times, however, at what point would my credit report by updated by the lenders? After form 5 is issued, or after the Trustee has paid the dividend/money and discharged himself?
I received form 5 on 21 August. My Noddle credit report showed Discharged on 22 August. The latest credit report dated 22 September shows no other change to the creditor status - they all show default.
I do have letters drafted (thanks for the advice on here) to send but I am not sure when the file should be updated and don't want to send the letters too soon.
Any advice would be welcome.
Thank you.
Hi Firewalker.
You're entitled to have your credit report updated when you've been issued your Form 5. That's because you no longer owe the money and the Information Commissioner expects your credit file to reflect this reality.
After a month you may wish to contact the lenders to encourage them along with this process. I suppose that the longer you leave it the more likely that some of the lenders will do this without any intervention from you though.
Therefore I suppose the timing comes down to how important the updates are to you.
It certainly doesn't seem to be an exact science with credit reports..
would have thought there would have been some link which would update the credit files once the ROI had been updated.

Thanks for your help TADA and Mark . I will keep my eye on it for a month or two, to see if it updates without me writing.
As Mark says, one would think there would be a link to trigger the update. The ROI is updated and my Credit Report shows I am discharged (that was immediate), but a month later no change to the individual creditor records. I thought (naively!) they may update at the first credit reference update.
Anyway, that helps to clarify for me re form 5 adn timing. Thanks again.
Hi Firewalker.
The credit reference agencies show what the lenders tell them. The lenders only report to them periodically, and may or may not provide fully up to date information when they do.
So it's all just a little bit chaotic really (from the perspective of someone that wants their file to be updated) and some companies may need a gentle shove in the right direction at some point.
