Hi whitey

6 years in total, so 6 years from the date you sign.

Also what about all the stuff that was included in my trust deed that is currently showing as defaulted? Would they be 6 yrs once my TD finishes and they become settled or would they be another 3 yrs also

Defaults should be dated no later than when your td gets protected and will stay on file for 6 years from that date.

Thanks Paul, going by my discharge date equifax are showing my accounts to be defaulted between 1-2 months after I signed my trust deed but im not sure on the date when it came protected I remember my adviser telling me at the time it would take them about 5 weeks to get it protected.

Hi whitley87.

If they're only dated a few weeks later it's probably not worth going to too much trouble to get them changed.

Hi Whitley. In relation to all the defaults you should make sure that they are showing as 'satisfied' or 'settled' now. Having completed my TD in September it's taken me until now with constant hassling of the companies to get them all marked as such (and with the relevant dates). They'll all remain on your credit file for the 6 years but much better that they don't show as defaulted for the rest of that time.

Do I not have to wait till I'm discharged from my TD tho before I can push to get them marked as settled?
