It does seem to be a bit of a clumsy search mechanism on the Register of Insolvencies. Quite often I have struggled to find someone and then tried searching on a different variable and up they pop. Sometimes there can be misspellings causing problems.

I'm sure you will be there somewhere, jimmybee - keep trying!

Jimmybee, have you set up your account? If you have try typing in your surname only, then click on the circle across from 'order by' display name choice. Hope that works.

The debtors discharge is when you are no longer obligated to pay into the trust deed. It is effectively over for you,but your trustee can remain in office for a good few months after that to finish off things like ppi reclaims etc.

When your final payment is made and you are waiting on discharge officially are you allowed to keep any extra money earned through overtime or would you be allowed to sell the car you were allowed to keep as it was below the amount that would have included it as equity in your TD

After final payment you should be able to keep any overtime but dont go inheriting old auntie mabels millions or winning the lottery!!

Selling the car should be fine as well if the trustee has no inter in it.

That's right, but I think it is important to be clear here. This only applies if you have not been discharged yet. Once you have received your discharge (even if the trustee is not yet discharged) then you have no further obligations - even if you were to win the lottery.

SO good luck - it could be you!!

Even the good companies appear a little slower than you'd like on the discharge front!!!

I only have 3 payments left Plasticdaft, I cant wait for discharge, but it seems that most have to wait months for the final break. ๐Ÿ™

Hi greenie.

This isn't scientific, but I've seen no criticism of discharge time for the firm you mention on this forum.

Why not call them and ask them?

Thank you TDA!

I just didnt want to call and maybe 'rock the boat' before discharge.
I think i'd rather wait and see how things pan out. Im hoping it's all a thing of the past sooner rather than later. Thanks.

We called them greenie a few days after our last payment was made just to confirm we have met our obligations re payment. During the call we asked if they could give us an idea on our and their discharge time scale. We were duscharged the following week and their discharge would be dependant on PPI claims and usually takes 12-16wks, in our case it was 15wks which would have been earlier if not for the fact that Christmas and New Year holidays were involved.

Good luck hope you don't have too long a wait.
