For the purpose of a protected trust deed (scotland) i am currently going through the beginning of trying to see if i qualify to enter the scheme.
I have been talking to KPMG to handle this service for me at the moment.
Any recommendations of companies handling or previously handling this for you?
Thanks for replies and hello to all in the forums. Have just signed up for more info on Protected Trust Deeds and currently searching forums for advice.
Thankyou,
Mark
I am with Phillip Gill and Co, Mark's, and expert on here, company
Do a search on here for KPMG and you'll come up with a lot of opinions.
I would suggest you sit down and have a face to face with at least one of the experts on here before you dive in.
Those who make an effort to post on here obviously care about what they do.
My experience so far with Mark's firm, over a year into my PTD, has been nothing but positive.
Hi Mark
Welcome to the forum.
If you read through the posts you should hopefully gauge people's experiences.
If you provide basis information on debts, assets etc hopefully we can provide some advice on options.

Hi, I just made my last payment after 3 years with Invocas - still a lot of paper work etc to be done but to be honest I've had no issues with them. I have to say though that if I'd known about this site before I started I would likely have gone with one of the experts on here. TD was the best thing I ever did.
Rsm tenon is who we used. Easy to get on with. Communication 1st rate. E mails replied to within a few hour's (during office hours).
They made it all very pain free.

A new dawn.
Shona's company are also first class and very understanding. My case manager always gets back to me and any correspondence and communication is usually done by email. I am almost half way there yipeee!!

I'm with KPMG. My TD is fairly straight forward so I haven't had many issues 2 years in. However, I am not looking forward to the discharge process at the end as that is where a lot of people seem to have been having trouble with them. People with less straightforward TD's also seem to have a lot of trouble with them. On balance, I think people who use the companies represented on the site seem to have far more positive experiences.
Glad that's over with....
Im with RSM Tenon, whom Kevin represents on here. I have just over a year to go. I have had the same experience as plasticdaft. Communication first rate, emails responded to quickly, any issues dealt with fairly.
If i were you I'd interview several firms before deciding who to go with and do searches in here on those you are interested in. Nothing like first hand experiences to give you a idea how a firm REALLY deals with issues.
Whoever you go with make sure you find out, what happens with equity (if you own property), overtime, bonuses, gifts, unexpected expenses and get everything in writing. I personally have had a dreadful time with KPMG, which in part is due to me not doing the above
fcwalkere makes a good point. Ensure there is a meeting and all matters are clarified in full before doing anything. Do not accept 'could' or 'should' answers.

I was originally with Buchanan Roxburgh, now Carrington Dean, and they have been very helpful and understanding of my own person situation which is great.
I am nearing the end of my trust deed so here's hoping all is positive in the months to come.
Trust Deed Complete July 2013.
Discharged August 2013.
Saving up ever since...
ok! So searching the site for more info:
At this stage i have a list of what i owe and my mortgage appears to have less than £2000 equity and my debts amount to short of £8000 to 4 separate companies. I have an income of £1100. No overtime or other income. Have been said that this would probably take 3 years 6 months at £188 a month to clear. Does that sound about right?
Regards,
mark
Thanks for all the replies and glad that it all sounds positive. I dont know that i will end up with KMPG and have read some negatives on these forums about them.
I have to go with one company or another. I have to believe that they will do what is best for my personal situation. With so many companies offering help on "PTD" what are the cons/ blinders to watch out for?
I was thinking of mentioning that the £180ish a month to them sounded high and if i could get another £10 or so off that payment? Can i bargain?
What are the cons?
Regards,
Mark

If you can afford the 188 per month, you should maybe consider a DAS rather than a PTD.
I may be wrong though. [:I]

A decent shout. A das should be looked at as an option. A trust deed would probably cost the same in fees as would go to creditors.
