Hi, I was sequestrated in 2011 and I have now been asked to be a volunteer helper with a local group. I would dearly love to get involved with this group but I am worried about the PVG check and if the question regarding bankruptcy will come up. Years ago I lived in England and was a helper with the scouts, I had an enhanced CRB check and I remember the question "have you ever been declared bankrupt" was on that form. Can anyone advise if my debt ridden past is going to put a stop to me passing a PVG check and becoming a volunteer helper with a children's group?

Hello Juliet.
I don't think that there will be a problem.
The following previous thread may provide you with some reassurance on this:
I just had a pvg done for work and our trust deed didnt get a mention so I'm sure you will be fine. Form doesnt mention anything about finances.

Trust deed completed Jan 2012,Trustee discharge Nov 2012.
A new dawn.
Hi Juliet
It's something I've only come across a couple of times, but in both the trust deed made no difference.

Thanks folks for your replies, it has put my mind at rest. The volunteering is through work and I wouldn't want to explain to anyone at work as to why I failed the check. Phew !! [:)]
