I had a valuation carried out which resulted in a range, not a specific figure. I asked if the valuer could state a figure but was told they won't on a ninety day valuation/asset valuation / forced sale valuation. The range is ?é£5000, how is this likely to be viewed by the IP for sequestration purposes, the higher figure, lower figure or mid figure when determining equity ?

Hi RBSB

Good question. I think your Trustee will need to clarify a figure. It's a bad day when the valuer can't value, especially when its probably the most important aspect.

That is very strange, and first time I have heard of a surveyor not giving a specific valuation. I agree with Mark that you should check with you IP.

I would agree with Mark and Shona. We are always able to get an exact figure when requesting valuations even on a 90 day forced sale valuation.

Was it a reputable firm that you used for the valuation? Ask the IP that you are speaking with what their stance is on the valuation you have.
