Question to the experts. Basically my car is falling to bits and i need a new one. As you probably read in my previous post I'm discharged on the Aib website but still to receive form 5. My parents are going to give me a loan through their bank to buy a used car from arnold clark and i'll set up a standing order to pay the monthly instalments back to them. Since I'm discharged but my IP remains in office can i register the car in my own name without any implications? Thanks

Hi sparky1.

Being the registered keeper of a vehicle is different to being the owner. That wouldn't be an issue even if you weren't discharged.

As you have been discharged from the trust deed I cannot see any harm in becoming the owner of the vehicle either.

Yes, if you are discharged then there are no implications for you.
