i have recently entered ptd but still have a couple of things that i am not sure about,i didnt ask at the time as so much was going on.i was awarded a good ppi payment which i gave to my td which set me asking,my wife is not in a td and all bills come off her pay my wage is for household things,shopping,work,insurances so doesnt look as much.we thought this would be easiest way of keeping track of spending but are unsure if we can put anything away as saving it is not a lot but want to do things right would be grateful of any advice

There's no harm in trying to put something away for savings if you can manage to, dls - in fact I would encourage it, to cope with any unexpected expenses. However, if you are managing to save a lot of money then questions may well be asked by your trustee as to whether you are paying enough into your trust deed.

about 100 to 150 per month between both of us but with cutting spending right back

200 it wasnt till we sat down and went through everything but my wife has no part in td will it affect her

Hi dls.

I doubt there is an issue, in principle your fair share of the household disposable income should go to your trust deed and your wifes share can be used at her discretion.

As Kevin said, saving is encouraged- It will help you in the future. Your wife id not in a trust deed, therefore she can do what she likes with her share of the disposable income, and you should have some that you can save for unexpected expense.
