I thought you could not include HMRC within a trust deed.
I have a friend who says they ARE include within
His newly started trust deed....he has also been told
He will be signed off the trust deed after a year but will
Have to continue paying for 3 years.

I think he has had some poor advice. And I know
He has already began paying the IP company and
He has been told it will take 5 weeks to find out if its
Protected.
This news, HMRC? And the "signed off after a year
But will have to continue paying for 3"??
Never read Anything about these two things.
Confused!!!!!!!!!

HMRC are included like all other creditors in a Trust Deed.

I can't see any way they would be discharged after 12 months, but continue to pay for 3 years.

That sounds a bit more like sequestration?

It does sound more like sequestration, though the 5-week protection period suggests trust deed. I wonder if your friend is getting confused between the two options - presumably both will have been discussed with him.
HMRC are included whether trust deed or sequestration though.
