So, after just over a month of research, meetings with a few different firms on what is expected etc I have today Signed with RSM Tenon.

My wife is signing her TD tomorrow with the same firm.

We initially spoke with Euan (would have been Kevin but he was very busy to the case went to Euan) who was brilliant, honest and very upfront about what we need to do and what will be expected. Our account manager is going to be Nicola who I met today (and signed with) who seemed very helpful and well informed about our case Our case apparently is fairly straight forward apart from my monthly bonuses which fluctuate wildly so Im going to have 6 month reviews but will email scans of my pay slip monthly so that any extra over my typical bonus can be taken out (50/50 split between me and the creditors) which is fair.

So basically, for the next 42 months + set up time I am now going to be working hard to deliver all my requirements of the Trust Deed, living in my / our means and getting this difficult part of my life over with. For my wife, her TD is for 36 months instead as the monthly funds monthly balance better in her case.

So this truly is the first day of the rest of my financial life.

ColSki.

Half way already!

Yip... I big learning curve for us. That said we should have done this a year ago instead of trying to fight debt with debt and barly keeping our heads above water.

3.5 years should go by quick enough... Then its a case of fixing our credit history as quickly as we can so that in a further 3 years we can realisicaly look at a bigger house whcih is still afordable monthly.

This is a painfull but nessesary leason for us!

Half way already!

You'll be so careful with money by the time you're done with this. It'll be a struggle to spend on something frivallous. The next few years will go past quickly and if you have any PPI, I'd get that ball rolling on the claims for that. When your next wage goes into the bank and all your direct debits come off, you'll be in the strange position of having some money left in your account. That takes a bit of getting used to.

Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!

Yeah it's Nicola Boyd. Seemed very friendly and keen to get us throught he process with as little pain as possible.

Agreed ont he budgeting and spending. It's heads down and live within our means.

We have no PPI for anything. I used to work in banking and knew the how bad this product was and would never have taken it. Should be easy for that to be confirmed and processed.

The big picture for us is to get our debts all sorted so we can (in 6+ years after this is all by us) look at moving to a bigger house. Somethign we could not ever manage with our finacies as they are!

Half way already!
