Hello
I have been a been an regular reader of this forum since i entered into my trust deed and this is my first post. I would like to say some of the advice has been of great help to me and wish to thank all who contribute on here. But now i have that out the way i would also like to ask my first question.
I am currently 4 months away from completing my 4yr trust deed (August 1st 2016). Following advice on this forum i have looked at my credit file and found what i feel to be an error regarding my trust deed. (everything else is correct) But Basically as i stated i am in a 4yr trust deed ending at the date 01/08/2016. But when i look on my credit report my trust deed says End date 01/08/2015 a full 12 months before my final payment. Is this normal and what would this mean moving forward ?
kind regards
Hi
Have you checked the Trust Dedd document you signed to see what it says?
And the AIB website to see what is recorded there?
Was your 3 year trust deed extended to cover additional money to be recovered, such as equity or car value?
If it is an error, then at least it is in your favour!
As Firewalker suggests, it might be worth checking your entry on the Register of Insolvencies, which can be accessed via the Accountant in Bankruptcy's website. Just to double check that you have not been discharged already by mistake...
yes firewalker When i entered my trust deed i was fully aware it was a 4 year deed. i have made every payment on time without fail. Also all of my I&E reviews have been done and no extra payments have been requested. so it has not been required to be extended. As for the AIB website i still show on there with no debtor discharge date as yet. (also i have no Form 5) I guess this means its just an error with Experians records.
i have only four months to go so i am just trying to clear up all lose ends. its not of great concern to me but just thought i would ask for some clarification on it.
Hi nearlydone
From the credit reference perspective, it may be that when your four years is up and you are actually discharged, your Credit file will be updated with the correct date.
In either case, the defaults will still appear for six years and the Trust Deed will still show for six years from date of signing of the Trust Deed rather than date of discharge.
Yes thanks firewalker i am aware the record will show on my credit file for 6 years. I am hoping to try and obtain a credit card (not a credit builder i already have one of these) to rebuild my credit after last payment 1/8/2016. i have no defaults showing on my dredit file everything is marked as settled. i have one mortgage all upto date with one missed payment 3 years ago. a personal loan marked as settled 4 years ago with no missed payments, and my credit builder card also upto date and due last payment in june. my only black spot is my trust deed, i was going to wait six months and apply for a Vanquis or similar card. but they have a criteria of no CCJ/trust deed/IVA in last 12 months. so in a round of about kind of way i was hoping if my credit file sowed as 3 years i would be elidgable sooner.
