I am just about to make my last payment to my Trustdeed at the end of the Month. I have not been a regular user of the Forum but I want to let you know how much help it has been.
Three years ago I was in so much of a mess that I was starting to think drastic thoughts.
I really would like to see more education in Schools about budgets money debt & sensible borrowing. I left at 16 and had no clue about Money. got first debt at 18 and been in debt ever since now at 41 its over.
Def going to make sure my 2 kids never get their finances in a mess.

That's one good thing that's come out of our trust deed, the lesson has unfortunately been passed down to our 15 year old!!
I hope he doesn't make the same mistakes we did!!!
Great news your almost done.

Hello buddyup.
Congratulations to you on turning your situation around so dramatically. It's really heartwarming to hear your story and I'm glad that the site was able to offer you a little support along the way.
You'll be very welcome if you ever wish to share your experience in the future with visitors that may be in a similar place to where you were a few years ago.
Thanks Amy

Good for you buddyup.
Agree with your comments about education, and I am glad to hear you have been passing the lessons learned on to your 15 yr old yourself. Unfortunately I think too many parents these days aren't doing their children such a favour. My impression is that a lot of kids are basically given a bit of a free ride at home and are financially mollycoddled - maybe it is a "keeping up with the Joneses" thing. So it is hardly surprising that many don't think through the consequences of using too much credit once they are supposed to be independent.
