Hi
New to forum
I have just payed the 36th payment to our trust deed. havent missed any payment, circumstances havnt changed throughout the process, have done everything properly and by the letter, have just recieved a letter saying they need to "extend our payement by one month to meet our obligations with regard to payement of our contributions".
I had assumed that when we signed up for this process and agreed on a 36 month plan that I would be paying 36 payments not 37.
Would appreciate if someone could advise me if this can be done.
cheers
Hi andersonbiker
You should ask them to provide you with a breakdown of all payments and check this against bank statements. If you agreed 36 payments, then this is all that is required to pay.
Were you referred by a third party to the firm?

Hi andersonbiker,
Well done on reaching this point in your Trust Deed and completing all of your 36 payments.
Give your relationship manager/Trustee a call and query why you are being asked to pay an extra payment. Advise them that you have made 36 payments. As Mark said ask them to provide you with a breakdown of your payments that you have made. It could be the case that their system shows 1 payment missing of your 36.
If they say that you need to make 1 extra payment which takes it to 37 payments in total ask them to send you out a copy of all of your paperwork which you should have signed at the start of your Trust Deed confirming how much you agreed to pay and for how long.
When you speak with them ask when you will receive your Form 5 which is your discharge certificate.
I'm sure it's something that will be straight forward to sort out.

Hi, phoned my trust deed company, they explained they had sent out letter before they had received our last payment but by the time we received the letter our last payment had been sent, everything ok now. Still waiting on discharge papers, thanks for all the info, been the hardest 3 years ever but was better than the losing everything,
