Hi Haggis

Good luck and I sincerely hope it all works outs.

The normal process would be to circularise creditors and then they are given 14 days to accept/reject. In my experience they will accept 99% of the time.

Keep up posted on how things go & keep on the trustees back to get it sorted.

Thanks Mark & Kevin

Yes my new mortgage has been approved with the additional amount for the trustees all approved.

My new mortgage is valid for 12 weeks and it was a really stressful time getting that approved so I am just worrying this stage of this nightmare will drag on longer than these 12 weeks.

I actually phoned and spoke to the trustee myself this week. He said the same as you mark re it would be very unusual for the creditors to reject the offer of this extra cash.

Thanks again for the very useful advice given to me - am on the other side of the fence in this forum but the help has been invaluable

Hi Haggis

No problem, always glad to help.

You should advise your trustee of the time limit and ask when the circular was sent. At lweast that gives you a timescale to keep on their back.

Well at last an ending in this pathetic saga that I have been involved in for the past near 2 years. Its over. Finally.

I have made a payment - in the thousands - to my husbands trustees and the house is now solely in my name.

I feel justified in feeling very hard done to. I have no debt - not even an overdraft and have always tried to live within my means - I dont have a fancy car - I dont have a fancy house - I just live with my son and work hard. So to have paid the sum of money towards my husbands debts - my husband who I threw out 12 years ago and who ignored all sorts of communication for the divorce and transfer of title ........then get sucked into all of this.

Anyway, Friday was the day it was all finalised and it was also the second anniversary of when my dad died......thats what deserves my tears and time not this so from now a line has been drawn under this and I am moving on with my life. This nightmare is now officially over for me and my son.

I want to especially thank Mark who gave me so much advice - thank you so much.

Hi Haggis.

I just read back to the start of this thread... October 2012. It's all taken a while but I'm glad that you've reached a point where you can at least put it behind you.

It does seem as though some discretion and good sense has been exercised by the trustee in the circumstances as well. My first reaction after reading your first post was "oh no, this doesn't look good"... the sort of question that you don't really want to answer because you know you aren't going to be delivering good news.

Given the circumstances I think the application of some discretion is the least that you deserved, it does all seem unfair on you given everything that went before.

Best wishes for the future.

I'm glad the uncertainty is over for you, haggis, though I certainly don't blame you for feeling somewhat cheated.

I may be mixing you up with someone else, but I seem to remember talking to you on the phone back at the start of all of this. You were understandably worried that it could turn out to be a lot worse than this, so I guess this is a positive outcome in that context.
I'm glad you are positive and can put it behind you now. Best of luck to you.

Hi Haggis

Always glad to help.

It's good that things are finally resolved and at least the uncertainty has been taken away, although at a cost! I can't believe the original post was nearly 2 years ago.

No Kevin I havent spoken to you about this - just emails with Mark.

Its so nice to waken up in the mornings now with none of this on my mind. Today I got the usual junk mail and one of them was a letter from my bank - TSB saying I qualified for a loan of ยฃ11500.............PATHETIC!! No wonder people are getting into so much debt when these organisations are throwing money at people so easily!

Anyway - hopefully I wont be posting again on here meaning my life is back to being problem free ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Haggis, really glad to hear you have managed to sort this out.

I also know what its like to get shafted by an ex-partner, in my case she obtained thousands of pounds of credit in my name leaving me with the bill.

What goes around comes around though and I hope you can move on and put this behind you.

Good luck and all the best.

Cheers
B
