Well it's just over 3 years since I discovered this place and boy it feels like it was yesterday to be honest.....
This weekend I shall make my 36th and final payment to my Trust Deed, then hopefully I can move on, take control of my finances.... These 36 months have been a valuable lesson and I have learnt so many lesson, the most important being how to budget and look after my money......
On Monday I start a new debt free chapter in my life, I am very lucky as I have a roof over my head, a decent secure job which pays me a good wage.... I have made a promise to myself that I will never return to the mess I was in three years ago and am now looking forward to actually starting some savings with the money I was paying to my PTD every month.......
So a big thank you to TDA and more importantly to Mark McFadyen, ta for all the advice and support 3 years ago and am glad I never needed to actually spoke to you after that, not in a bad way but it just went to show how smoothly my Trust Deed went that I never had to... Anyway yer sidekick in the office could answer anything I asked.....[:D]
Finally good luck to everyone else out there, my simple advice is don't panic there is always someone out there who can help you you just need to ask them...... I'll still be around but hopefully as a discharged TD........[:)]
Take care !!!!
Hi Porcupine
There's been a few daft posts on age & getting old today, but this tells me how quickly time actually does fly in.
I am amazed that its 3 years and hopefully all has went well as promised. Scarey thing is I remember it like last week, even your screensaver!
I'm genuinely glad it's worked out as promised and the whole thing from start to finish is exactly how it should be. Clear plan & no surprises.
If you call me or Maria when you make the final payment, I'll make sure Form 5 is sent immediately and we'll fully close in 3-4 weeks.
It would be good if you could still pop in and out of the forum as your posts have been very insightful from day one and will certainly help others.

I'll still be popping in and out Mark, and I'll call the office on Monday !!!
Great news.

A new dawn.
Hi Porcupine, It does make a real difference. I moan to everyone that the thing that has not changed in 25 years ( since I was 10!!) is people's fear to pick up the phone & just speak to someone. We take it as part of the job, but it is still the most difficult part.
Hopefully the forum gives some insight to how things are done and hopefully it helps people get over the fears of just asking questions. Here endeth the lecture! Ha!
But seriously, please stick around as I, and im sure others have learned stuff from your posts which certainly makes my job easier.

Congratulations to you as well Porcupine. This is a proper "finishers Friday"!
I hope that you're justly pleased and relieved.
Have a great weekend and I hope that we'll still hear from you from time to time.
Just checked my online banking, last payment has now been taken off my account, Yippee.....
I'll give Maria a call today just to get it confirmed and I can then go and cancel the Standing Order....lol
It's a good day !!!!
Hi Porcupine,
Well done on the successful completion of your Trust Deed.
Often people say to me it almost sounds too good to be true when discussing a Trust Deed as they think there is no way of solving their financial difficulties. I think this demonstrates that if a Trust Deed is set up for the right reasons and everything clarified at the outset prior to signing then the whole process should run smoothly and without any problems or surprises.
Enjoy the surplus cash each month and good luck for the future.

Maybe not so near, I know am probably worrying over nothing........[?]
Contacted the office on last Monday just to confirm everything was ok and could I now cancel my Standing Order, they said that they would call me back, 5 days later still no call back from them despite me calling them twice since then......
I know it sounds silly and am probably paranoid but am just desperate to hear that it's all over and I can move on.......

The end is no Nigh............
Got my Form 5 through the door today, all my last minute panicking can now stop......
Once again a big thanks to all on here and to Mark, plus his cohorts at Philip Gill............[:D]
To be honest no plans with the extra money as of yet, just bank it and see what tickles my fancy over the next few months.......
