Hi Mark (McFadyen)

I cannot express enough how much I want to say thank you.

After speaking to another company over 3 months ago, you have done more for me in one day than in all that time.

Our first meeting was great, you came to see me, went through the process, left the office around lunchtime and by 5pm today you had carried out several processes and I heard back from not only you in writing but an IP as well, in writing.

What can I say - true professional !

Feeling so much more relaxed and at east and looking forward to bring matters to a conclusion.

I so wish that I had been aware of this site in October.

Maria [:)]

Too many people are unfortunate enough to approach companies which do them no favours whatsoever.

Please folks,if you are thinking about sorting your debts out talk to at least 2 or 3 firms to make sure the advice you are getting is the best for your circumstances.

Dont be afraid to ask on here what we think of x,y or z. Lots of us have been through or are going through the debt solution process. Feel free to use us for your benefit, dont make mistakes that will cost you down the line.

Right, enough you lot!

I just trying to do a good honest job in the spirit the legislation was intended. Plus I get to travel up and down the country, get free coffee and get to meet a wide variety of good and interesting people.(Although you normally dont get a word in edgeways!)

I am truly delighted that you find the meetings useful and as you know I (and Maria) are always available throughout.

Mark dont you dare play down the impact your attitude towards the insolvency industry has on normal peoples lives.

A more open and honest and knowledgeable person people will struggle to find.

You do the industry proud when so many cowboy outfits do nothing but create problems!!!

Hi Maria

Following our call, I thought this may be a nice wee update.

From the previous posts, a 'middleman' company was contacted in October 2011 to deal with things and somehow managed to do nothing whatsoever in 4 months. After our meeting I faxed HMRC to advise that the Trust Deed had been signed. (This is our normal policy to head off any potential legal action) After a week or so we we received a call to advise that they had already petitioned for bankruptcy and would not accept or agree to the Trust Deed.

My understanding is that HMRC will not withdraw a bankruptcy petition once it had been lodged. I asked ( my) Maria in the office to call HMRC to advise of the circumstances. Amazingly the lady at HMRC ( who I'd love to name, but won't) listened to the full story, discussed matters at length and generally spent a lot of time talking things through. She then advised that she would withdraw the petition and overturn the objection. Amazing ( and surprising ) result.

The purpose of this update? To damn these bloody middlemen companies who advertise, fill the papers, Internet, radios, newspapers etc and then do nothing constructive other than pass people on or in this case, didn't. But mostly to thank Mrs .... at HMRC for taking the time to listen and speak with us and make a balanced decision.

That's fantastic Mark. It really helps to illustrate why:

1: Finding a trust deed firm that will get on with things quickly is so important and/

2: That when a trust deed firm makes an extra effort for their client obstacles can sometimes be removed.

Top work by your team and HMRC.

I still wish this place would somehow come up with a list of companies that people could comment on whether good, bad or indifferent.

Far too many people jump from frying pan to fire by choosing the company with fancy adverts on telly and false promises. I am sick of hearing about people who enter trust deeds with the best intention of paying back what they can in a reasonable timeframe to find goalposts moving,or extra hoops thrown in to jump through. And as for companies requesting 4 and 5 year trust deeds just to make more out of it......well lets just say I probably cant go to print with what I think of them!!

And we are still finding people who have paid over 36 monthly payments to now find no chance of remortgaging to release umpteen thousands in equity and they are back to looking at possibly losing their homes, which they entered the trust deed to protect!!

If you are thinking of a trust deed, contact at least 3 companies and see what they give you as options,do you homework, ask as many questions as you can think of and get anything that has been discussed on the phone or person to person IN WRITING!!!

ran over.

Oh and great result Mark. Good to see that HMRC are perhaps realising that cases must be looked at individually.

Hi Mark

I cannot convey enough how so extremely grateful I am to both yourself and your team, for your all your help.

Just so wish that I had come across you months ago !!!

I was originally passed to someone else through word of mouth, which I do believe is a generally the best way of referral, thereafter I came across this site and found you.

Question is, how do we get the message out to people that they do have to look around, or better still to find a site like this in the first instance so that they know the right kind of questions they should be asking.

That I will continue to think about. People are very often in a vulnerable state and at their lowest ebb by the time they contact someone and at that point that's when the flashy ad's come into play.

Think a wee drink should be had by you and your team on an amazing result with HMRC, obviously delighted for this to be on me :). I'm am so very thankful to the lady at HMRC who made a sensible and reasonable decision on my case.

Also, thankyou to everyone else who has contributed as it's very much appreciated.

Think I need a wee drink now, or beter still, a big bar of chocolate ๐Ÿ™‚

Maria
