Hi Folks,

Has anybody ever taken on some temporary work, at Christmas to pay for Christmas for exapmle? I'm keen to know what you would be allowed to keep. Would you have to earn £600 to keep £300???

Hi SkintAlly.

That's an interesting question that I'm sure will be of interest to many visitors at this time of year.

I think it's one of theose situations where you need to agree something with your trust deed firm in advance.

It would seem crazy if they removed any incentive to do some extra work considering both you and the creditors would win if it did happen.

Hi TDA

That's kind of what I was thinking. I'm assuming that a 50/50 split would be the worst case as working for £3.10/hr would take a fair bit of determination and will power, especially with a full time job running during the week. Perhaps 75/25 would be more appealing if any TRUSTEE people are reading this 🙂

I don't see why this couldn't be agreed with your trustee, as you say, everyone is a winner. The precise percentages etc are I guess open to negotiation...

As Kevin says, anything is negotiable. The fact that it is just for over Christmas makes it easier as it will not be regular extra income. Hopefully your Trustee will commend you for using your initiative. Your only problem is if your Trustee still believes that Santa pays for everything!!!!
