I have today received a letter confirming that i have been discharged of my obligations under the terms of my TD. However another paragraph says that statutory matters that need to be completed now can take several months. Can someone explain what this actually means, as I'm a bit confused (not for the first time either!) about where I'm actually at. I do believe however that I am one step closer to seeing the back of this thing - with a lot of tough lessons along the way!

Hi Mark I signed on 13th March 2008 and it became protected on 22nd April 2008.

Thanks.

If you've received that letter, then you don't have to worry. The paragraph you mention just means contacting your creditors and sorting out dividends, etc.

Trust deeds signed before April 2008 have a different closing procedure than those after that date, Wikikee. It does mean that it takes a little longer before you are fully discharged, but hopefully not several months!
