A member here highlighted that their name and Trust Deed information appeared when a Google search was carried out using name and town.
(this is documented in another post under Google Search Results)

When I checked it, mine did too.

This was linked to an unscrupulous Romanian company who 'syphoned' information from the Edinburgh Gazette and a google search showed the information FOR EVER MORE!

to get it removed involved convoluted process and one that risked identify fraud. It could have involved money.

I wrote to Google to get the link removed. Refused. I appealed twice. Refused second time. Ignored third time.

This search entry could easily have affected my job and professional reputation.

I wrote to the ICO last year with research and documentation to prove what I had done to try. They ruled in my favour a few days ago and wrote to Google to get the link removed.

Yesterday I received an e-mail from Google to say they had reviewed my situation and removed the link. I have tried searches from my phone and laptop, and the entry no longer appears. YIPPEE! HALLELUJAH!

ABSOLUTELY, UTTERLY DELIGHTED! So if any of you has the same problem and embarrassment with your name and trust deed appearing on a google search, I am happy to share details with you to get yours removed too. PM me.

So, Candlewick and TDA - it is indeed time to raise a glass and celebrate!

That's a brilliant outcome Firewalker.

You deserve a drink, and I think there might be a fair few members and readers who think they owe you one in the future for your efforts leading the way on this.

We'd like to add a blog to the site on this subject so that we can point others towards it to help them in the future.

If you're happy to help us put that together (might need a little email/telephone time) would you mind getting in touch using the contact TDA form please?

Happy to help in any way.
I received great help and advice from here over the past few years.

I wonder when people write to you about how to go about clearing their credit files, if it might be worth mentioning they could do a Google search with name and town to see if it appears. And if it does, direct them to the article for guidance? They can then take it from there.

This Globe24h situation should naturally disappear over the next few years when Trust Deeds after 2013 did not appear on the Gazette website Google link.

I'm not sure the PM system is working. We don't allocate any resources to maintaining it because it's rarely used and has been abused a couple of times in the past.

Cal - if you want to use the contact TDA form I'm happy to forward a message to Firewalker to put you both in touch with each other directly.

Hi Firewalker,

Well done on sticking with the issue and taking it all the way. Your hard work certainly paid off.
