Doesn't feel me with confidence the fact no one seems to have heard of them. Their a Glasgow company. My concerns are, over the phone they went into discussing a td stating I was eligible but not at any point discussing any alternatives. Iv alread had the first of 2 home visitin where I was told this is the best option for me and when I said "can I relax now about things" I was told yes? Which iv since discovered is not the case. I felt it was more of a sales pitch.

Hello fifi.

There are a number of financial and/or debt advice firms with names very similar to the one that you mention so it's hard to express an opinion.

I'm not aware of a direct provider of trust deeds using that trading name though, so I'd imagine the idea would be to pass you to another company later who can handle this process.

You should have had all of the options open to you explained. That would help you to weigh up the benefits and drawbacks of each before making an educated decision. If this hasn't happened I think you need to take a step back at this point. A trust deed might be right for you, but you need to understand why this is the case in comparison to the alternatives.

Thank you I am definitely starting to realise this since researching over the last few days. I basically went online filled in a calculator thing and then this company phoned. Now that I know all about it I realise like anything I should go with a reputable company. They have a lot of my documents but I expect it will be easy for them to post them back to me. I'm just concerned now that I hav stopped paying creditors on their instructions and up to now havnt defaulted on anything. The texts and letters have started and iv not actually gotten any further with where to go. Have messaged some reputable companies on here so hope to here back soon.

Hi fifi

I wouldnt worry about creditors. It takes an age for any real legal action, months, sometimes years and the main problem is just the annoying calls.

Advise them of your intentions and hopefully they will freeze things for a while until things progress. Honestly it takes as long or as short as you wish to set up if thast is the correct route for you.

Glad, you have taken a step back , I feel you might have been a Golden goose , IE paying a middle man with a nice sales pitch and then your life would have taken a turn for the worst .

Please , consult Mark and other experts on the site who will meet face to face and put everything in writing . Been a victim but I am fighting back , thanks to the TDA experts .[B)]

I have never heard of them either. I would be inclined to agree that they are probably a middle man .

Is it true the law is changing re trust deeds? The guy who came to my house said I'm better doing it just now as the law is about to change! He didn't specify in what way I don't know if it was another sales pitch. He also said not to worry re Edinburgh gazette as the general public can't access it and that you have to pay a subscription. I have since been online and looked at peoples trust deeds, obviously I'd need to know who I was looking for but they were still there.

Hi fifi

Sounds like standard sales pitch.

Trust Deed are going through a consultation process which has now ended. The general idea is to tighten up the process. I have no ideas if/when any changes will be made.

As you state, the Gazette is open to the public.

Hi fifi

Yes there are changes ahead, but as yet, we do not know exactly what they will be. Nothing will change that soon, so you have time to think....dont rush into anything.

From their website appear to be a firm of Independent Financial Advisors offering expected services of an IFA.

Agree with other "Experts"

a. Consultation now complete
b. Tightening of Processes
c. You have time to consider as changes are not imminent
