My wife and I have had protected trust deeds for 18mths now.(Half Way yoo hoo !)
On returning from visiting family over the new year I found a card from a sheriff officer on the doormat with the message please call me written on it. nothing else.
We have no idea to what its in relation to. Should we call ?
Hello Fedupfighting.
I'm glad to hear that you have reached the half way point of your trust deeds. Hopefully the next eighteen months will pass quickly for you.
I think you need to give them a call so that you know what the situation is rather than being concerned about the unknown.
Hopefully it will be nothing at all for you to worry about.
Google the number on the card in case its a scam.

A new dawn.
If you explain to the sheriff officer that you are in Trust Deeds, he will report back to the creditor who he is collecting on behalf of. It is porbably nothing to worry about.

Please check the number first as plasticdaft says.
A few years ago a widespread scam involved leaving delivery postcards requiring a call to arrange re-delivery, this call incurred substantial premium rate costs. It is not impossible for similar to be done when names and addresses have been published.
Is it a firm you already have knowledge of, is there a local address on it, an email address even?
There's a website that you can put the number into which should tell you if its dodgy. Just look up who calls me in any search engine.
We had a card left regarding a parcel and the phone number if called would have cost us over ยฃ200!
Made me a little paranoid!
