Here we go again! It's 3 + weeks until we find out if our td is protected and the uncertainty is killing me! I feel sick constantly with anxiety and don't know how much more I can take. I just want it sorted out so we can start to live a normal life. It's just a horrible feeling.

Hang in there Indebt999.

You're by no means the only person who has written about this type of anxiety in this forum in the run-up to the date when the trust deed is very likely to become protected.

Hopefully other members who have experienced the same worry will be able to provide a little support for you.

Hi Indebt999

I remember the feeling all too well, & also how no-one could really reassure me even though they tried their best !!

I am sure it will all work out just fine, try to distract yourself day to day just now (hard I know).

It will all be sorted soon & you can start again.

Look forward to hearing when it goes protected !!

Thanks guys. It's just horrible. Even though it is likely to go through it's the uncertainty of the whole thing!
In trying to keep focussed and stay busy! I know its not likely to fail but I suppose it's a self protection measure to think it will when nothing else seems to be going right. Here's to the next 18 days!!

As I have said in response to other posts on this theme, I too went through this agony as to whether Protected status would be granted/who in their right mind would take 45% of what they were owed by me....I now await my discharge letter after completing the 3 year process. Stay calm!

My ex and I entered into trust deeds with pretty much the same amounts of debt as a lot of it was joint debt. I was told the amount I could afford to pay would probably have to be paid over 3.5 years to become protected so I agreed to this. My ex's surplus cash was around ยฃ100 less a month - she refused to agree to pay over a longer period than 3 years and said she was prepared to be sequestrated if the creditors objected to the amount offered. They both got protected in the end with no issues so it would seem creditors can be pretty flexible about that 10% minimum that I heard getting banded about at the time.

Glad that's over with....

That's interesting upstream. A lot depends on exactly which creditors are owed and how much. The majority of the main banks/credit card companies certainly do object if 10p in the pound is not met as a minimum.

It's also the case that the Trustee should expect that the dividend to creditors will be at least 10p in the pound at the start of the trust deed.

I wonder if they reduced their fees to make this happen?

That's possible. All moot now tho as she has left the country and stopped paying her trust deed. Says she is never coming back but a bit short sighted I think as no doubt the debt will just be landed back at her feet for the full amount if she does.

Glad that's over with....
