I sent away my 6 monthly review to my Trustee about 2 months ago, and haven't heard anything back. I have phoned a few times and they say that they have a backlog with these. I'm about a year into my Trust Deed and haven't made any contributions for about 5 months as I wasn't working for a while. On the review form i did put that i'm now working and i sent in my pay slips. Is this something that should be of concern?

Hi andy,

Just to confirm, you're not currently making payments despite being back in work?

If that's the case I think you should push the issue with your Trustee's office. It's clearly in your best interests (as well as the creditors and the Trustee's) to get things up and runnning again as soon as possible.

Are you able to start making the originally agreed payment again?

I'm thinking it might be a good idea just to start making the payments again. I wonder what Mark or Kevin think about that.........

An interesting thought. I think you're right TDA, starting payments again sounds like a good idea to me. Pretty poor show by your trustee though, regardless of how busy they are, how long does it take to say yes please pay what you can?

hiya,
just a wee update on this. i've still not heard anything from IP about re-starting payments. Last letter i wrote was early December asking for standing order form etc. Any advice on this? I don't want to be doing anything wrong.

Hi andy

Your IP is under an obligation to notify your creditors when 3 or more payments are missed and you should have been copied into the correspondence. He then needs to make a decision about what to do next (bankruptcy etc)

I can only advise that you keep on at your IP and keep a record of contact attempts. You could also obtain details of the original standing order and set this up again.

Hope this helps

Mark

hiya,

i managed to get the ball rolling with my contributions again, and too be honest it's a big weight off my mind. Incidentally i received a letter from some credit agency today who said they took over debt from one of my creditors, and asking for payment within 7 days!! It was a great feeling writing back with my IP's details and asking them to contact him....
