Hi I ended my trust deed about a year ago and moved out to Australia. Now looks as if im moving back as ive been offered a job in Aberdeen. I own a house in another part of scotland which is currently rented by another couple.
So on the plus side I will have a bank statement for the past 5 years stating that I have never missed any mortgage payments, a statement from an australian estate agent stating I have never missed any rent payments in the year I've been here and a letter confirming my job position and salary (will be 67k).
On the down side there is the trust deed of course and a mobile contract that I stupidly took out before leaving the uk and stopped paying. I will settle this bill in the next week or two right enough.
Is there any chance of me being able to rent in Aberdeen?

Hi milo

I'm not sure this is something we can guide you on as such.

When renting the will normally carry out a credit check and this may or may not cause problems. The letting agents will need to make a decision based on the information at hand and I would think that the letter and copy statements etc should provide them with some comfort.

Let us know how you get on.

I guess it depends upon how fussy the prospective landlord/letting agent is, though I'd be surprised if you couldn't get somewhere suitable, milo333.
