My husband and I both have a Protected TDs. My husband may need to change job which will have a lower income. I wondered if he would be able to pay less to his TD as his income would be reduced. Thanks for your advice.

Good morning casperdog,

I think this is a subject to be discussed with your Trustee.

They understand that circumstances can change during a Scottish Trust Deed and shouldn't expect you to pay money that is needed for other essentials.

In some circumstances people may end up paying a little less each month for a few extra months for example.

Hi Casperdog,

You will need to let your Trustee know as soon as your circumstances change.

Our firm would ask you to complete a status report and we would re-assess your income and expenditure. If your disposable income had reduced we would reduce your contribution accordingly.

Many thanks for your replies. If this happens with my husband's job I will contact my Trustee for advice. Regards

Hi casperdog

I don't think this will be a problem. We have a small number of cases where the contribution had to be reduced and the period of the Trust Deed extended slightly with no difficulty.
