I was discharged from my TD over a year ago and want to reclaim the PPI on the cards that were covered by the TD.

If I am successful, do I get to keep any returned premiums ?

Thank you.

Zara

Hello zara and welcome to the forum.

Given that your Protected Trust Deed has been completed I would assume that you should be able to keep the money though I'm interested to hear the views of our experts on this.

Thank you.

PS I picked Zara as my user name as it's the name of my German Shepherd Dog. It's not the name I use in the evenings !

Hi all

This is an interesting point. There is a thought that on the conclusion of a Trust Deed, the debt is legally dead and therfore unable to be challenged on the PPI front. If it was successful, then the funds would go to you and not the former Trustee.

You could start a new trend with this pet username thing, Zara. I'll expect to be fielding queries from a host of Rovers and Tiddles in future!

It's an interesting question you ask. Certainly, any windfall you receive once discharged from your trust deed is yours to keep. Having said that, I'm not sure how a PPI claim would be viewed given that the debts it related to will presumably largely not be repaid.

I guess it is worth a try, if the PPI was missold. Let us know how you get on will you?

Good luck

Thanks to all.

I'll let you know if I get anything back.

I think it could be important to quite a few. As those who have the need for TDs often have had very large credit card bills, with very high PPi premiums !
